Our Rancher Partners: Texas Tribal Buffalo Project

Texas Tribal Buffalo Project is focused on the healing of generational trauma

We recently visited the Texas Tribal Buffalo Project in Waelder, TX, to continue our mission to document our partners across the nation for an upcoming docuseries. The nonprofit was founded by Lucille R. Contreras after she found a need to find a source of healing of generational trauma of Lipan Apache descendants and other Native nations bordering traditional Lipan Apache ranges.

Texas Tribal Buffalo Project ranch also participates in Tanka Fund’s beef and bison commodities program, which provides incentives for sustainable land management practices.
