OUR RANCHER PARTNERS: Texas Tribal Buffalo Project

Texas Tribal Buffalo Project Ranch Manager Denise Lozano feeds one of the Buffalo on the land in Waelder, Texas. This is NOT a usual event and should not be considered something you can do with Buffalo, which, while amazing creatures, are a very dangerous. Denise is a professional and this particular Buffalo is the only one like it in the herd.

We recently visited the Texas Tribal Buffalo Project in Waelder, TX, to continue our mission to document our partners across the nation for an upcoming docuseries. The nonprofit was founded by Lucille R. Contreras after she found a need to find a source of healing of generational trauma of Lipan Apache descendants and other native nations bordering traditional Lipan Apache ranges.
