Executive Director gathers with purpose in Suquamish, WA

Being welcomed by the Suquamish Tribe and gathering in Suquamish, WA for the Alliance for Indigenous Environmental Stewardship (AIES) Summit was a meaningful return to the heart of our purpose — and a reminder of who we serve in our Native communities.

The summit brings together a diverse group of Indigenous environmental leaders and stakeholders to collaboratively define the future direction and impact of the network. Our Executive Director, Dawn Sherman, was invited to attend and said the event was about connections and relationships -— not just pushing agendas.

"I had the honor of joining so many incredible Indigenous leaders to support one another and our organizations during these times. Gathering in this special place and being welcomed by the Suquamish tribe has created new waves for our next generation," she said. "This was more than a summit — it was connection to who we are and why we do what we do for the land, animals, and community of our ancestors."
